  Welcome
Welcome to derbyshirepool.com, the official website of Derbyshire County Pool Association.

Derbyshire County Pool Association was established in 2004 for the purpose of giving the county of Derbyshire the presence it had previously been lacking within the English Pool Association. The English Pool Association is recognised by Sport England (a division of the UK Sports Council) as the official governing body for pool in England.

This site is designed to cater for pool players in the Derbyshire area, and as such you will find many links to affiliated pool leagues and pool competitions going-on. As you can imagine we are a Derbyshire site and therefore centre our attention largely on the Derbyshire pool scene, however we also report on the various national and international events. As such you never need to look anywhere else!

As a community site the forums are ideal for pool players to chat with fellow players about various subjects. Please respect other users though - off-topic or abusive posts may be removed without warning.

Statement from Derbyshire County Pool Association
Posted by Jonaldinho
on Monday, July 05 2010 @ 12:04:03 BST  (202 reads)
County The Cue Club International group recently issued a statement with regard to the removal of Darren Finch as webmaster of derbyshirepool.com, and furthermore that the running of the website would be re-assigned to the Committee of Derbyshire County Pool Association.

Derbyshire County Pool Association (hereafter referred-to as the Association) can officially confirm that, as of 12th July 2010, derbyshirepool.com will be formally adopted as the Association’s official website.

Derbyshire has previously been in a distinct minority of County Pool Associations not to have an online presence, and it has long been the intention of the Association to have its own, dedicated website. Indeed, there have been rough plans and many ideas on the backburner for some months, if not years, now.

Please click here to read the statement in full...

  A Statement from CueClubInternational.com

Site News juan-king writes Following recent developments regarding the alleged misconduct of Darren Finch and Premier Pool Promotions, I have decided that in the best interests of Derbyshirepool.com, its users, staff and pool in the County of Derbyshire as a whole, I have reclaimed Derbyshirepool.com from Darren Finch and terminated his role as webmaster of Derbyshirepool.com with immediate effect.

This is not a course of action I have taken lighly, or without giving it serious thought and consideration for several days and indeed, it is with some sadness that I have had to take these steps.

Unfortunately, the allegations of misappropriation of funds is not something that I can - or will - turn a blind eye to and Darren Finch has had more than enough opportunity to offer me an explanation and his views on the allegations being made. He has chosen not to take that opportunity.

  Mens County Trials 2009

County FudgieSlim writes Despite an awful day weather wise, a very pleasing attendance of 32 players turned out. As we were playing on 6 tables, the groups were split into 2 groups of 6 and 4 groups of 5. All groups were played to a round-robin format. To ensure the groups did not overlap time-wise, the groups of 6 played 2 frames against each other, and the groups of 5 played 3 frames. The top 3 in the groups of 6 went through, only the top 2 in the groups of 5 plus the best 2 runners-up from the groups of 5, to whittle us down to a final 16. The last 16 would then be split into 2 double eliminator competitions involving 8 players each, effectively making it a 2 life Swiss system for all players concerned. Story of the group stages went as follows:

Successful defence for John at county youth championships
Posted by Admin
on Wednesday, November 11 2009 @ 00:00:04 GMT  (657 reads)
County lifeizfab writes Mackworth's John Lester has successfully defended his Derbyshire County Youth Pool Championships title after victory at the Corn Exchange Snooker & Pool Club in Derby last weekend.

The early going saw some interesting match ups with young ladies snooker player Hannah Jones, who has this year been nominated for a county sportswomen of the year award, threaten a big comeback against Ripley's Haydn Hickling however Haydn's lead was too much for the Quarndon snooker player. Elsewhere the pre-tournament favourite Connor Jones was eliminated by Daniel Gaskarth and John Lester had a tough match with Leon Meakin before progressing to the latter stages.
